Reporting an error
Send the article link and a short description of what needs correcting to corrections@brownbrothers.io. The more specific you can be, the faster we can act. We aim to reply within 48 hours.
Our approach
Every confirmed factual error is corrected. When the error was material, or the revision substantially changes what readers were told, a dated note at the bottom of the article explains the change. Small fixes such as spelling, formatting, dead links, swapping a source link for an equivalent one, or a clarification that leaves the substance intact may be made without a note. If the central premise of an article cannot be supported, we withdraw the article and, where it makes sense, leave a brief notice at the original address.
Updates versus corrections
Sometimes the facts change after we publish. We update articles to reflect new information and show the date of the most recent update. An update that changes the original conclusion is treated as a correction.
