Why having a memory spread in your bullet journal is awesome (29 Examples)
Dont for a second think that we are asking you to create a memory spread for every single memory! But we do know the health benefits of reflecting on gratitude and those memories that made you happy over a period of time. So what does a memory bullet journal spread have in it? Anything you think was important to you over the month or the year.
Benefits for your mental health
Indeed, many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously jot down their gratitude tend to be happier and less depressed. The same goes for memories, including that aspect of gratitude in your spreads can really help focus on the good in your life. And when you are feeling down you can head back over to those positive memories and moments of gratitude to really reinforce the good things in your life.
Keeping a journal helps you establish order when your world feels like it’s in chaos. It helps you get to know yourself by revealing your innermost fears, thoughts, and feelings. Look at your writing time as personal relaxation time, a time when you de-stress and wind down. Write in a place that’s relaxing and soothing—maybe with a cup of tea (or for me its 100% a wine!). Look forward to your journaling time, and know that you’re doing something good for your mind and body. Using this time to focus on those good memories in your bullet journal can boost those endorphins leading to a happier you!
There’s a strong connection between happiness and mindfulness. Journaling brings you into that state of mindfulness; past frustrations and future anxieties lose their edge in the present moment. It calls a wandering mind to attention, from passivity to actively engaging with your thoughts.
So is having a memory bullet journal spread a requirement?
No – its not, but its a good way to reflect on your month, week, work etc. And a good opportunity to look back on your month and see those little personal victories you may have forgotten about.
